GPW 2nd class 63191 (Low number). Lieutenant Colonel Meshko Mikhail Petrovich. Commander of the 1st Infantry Regiment. At war since June 22, 1944. When breaking through the enemy defenses on March 4, 1944, the regiment was the first to enter the German trenches. The regiment destroyed 150 soldiers and officers and took possession of several settlements. In the battles on the outskirts of the city of Staro-Konstantinov, I overcome the stubborn resistance of the enemy. The commander was in the front lines and raised the soldiers to attack. Two kilometers from the city of Mieszko died a heroic death. The regiment destroyed 400 soldiers and officers 2 self-propelled guns 2 tanks destroyed 5 machine guns. Worthy of a posthumous award.
