Soviet Russian USSR medal Order of the Red Star serial number 1579953, awarded in 1945 to Private Pyotr Fedorovich Rakitsky, a mortarman and sapper who was serving in the 31st Guards Mechanized Brigade at the time he received this Red Star. Previously he had been awarded a Bravery Medal for placing anti-tank and anti-personnel mines that were credited with blowing up 2 German tanks , 1 truck with ammunition, and up to a platoon of infantry. The Citation for this Red Star does not appear to be freely available and may not be available at all.
However, there can be no doubt that it was a strong combat citation. Condition is good, as seen in the images! The serial number of the award is authentic and matches the serial number shown in the archival documents. If you require confirmation in advance, please send me a message, and I will gladly provide images. Reasonable, rational collectors who are genuinely interested in the history represented by an award will make the effort to reach out and will quickly find that everything is in order. Winner will be provided with full archival research (9 pages - including Award Record Card) in electronic format, unredacted, in color.
Professional English translation of the Record Card is available if requested before receipt of item. I will answer all coherent, respectful inquiries to the best of my ability. Please see my other listings. Lots of excellent Soviet medals! Many additional high quality pieces available that are not yet listed.
