Deputy commander of a rifle battalion for political affairs. Preparing for the battles for the city of Berlin, he was in the battle formations of the battalion. He gave instructions to the communists and inspired them to military exploits.

On the night of May 1, 1945, he led a group of machine gunners and was the first to break into the Berlin metro and capture 20 German soldiers. For the courage and bravery shown in the battle for the city of Berlin Berlin, he is worthy of being awarded the Order of the GPW.
