87 tank regiment submachine gunner. Private Volkov took part in the war as a scout of the 87th heavy tank regiment. When capturing a settlement in Germany on the Neiss River, the regiment received the task of breaking through the German defenses. Volkov was in a tank landing, a tank under heavy enemy fire was one of the first to break into the city.
