1943 during the battle on time brought shells and his gun knocked out a German tank and set fire to three tanks. During the fighting in Germany, he timely brought shells under enemy and aircraft fire. The gun destroyed a company of German soldiers and several firing points. From April 16 to April 19, 1945, in the vicinity of the Neisse River, Germany, his gun destroyed more than 70 German soldiers and 2 armored personnel carriers. The medal "For Courage" from the moment of its appearance has become particularly respected and valued among the front-line soldiers, since it was awarded exclusively for personal bravery shown in battle.

This is the main difference between the medal "For Courage" and some other medals and orders, which were often awarded "for participation". For the most part, the medal "For Courage" was awarded to private and non-commissioned officers, but it was also awarded to officers (mostly junior managers).
