Soviet Russian USSR Order of the Red Star with serial number in the 600-700 thousand range awarded in 1944 to Guards Sergeant Evgeny Borisenko, aircraft mechanic in the 22nd Guards "Sevastopol" Long-Range [Bomber] Aviation Regiment, for servicing hundreds of combat missions since 1941 by YeR-2 and B-25 bombers across the Eastern Front, from bombing missions against Helsinki to missions in support of the Yugoslav Partisans (specifically mentioned in the award citation). Based on other records for the unit, many of its missions were of a "special" nature. At the end of WWII, Borisenko received the Order of the Patriotic War 2nd Class, which covered his continued excellent service, including in support of further missions for the benefit of the Yugoslav Partisans.

He also received the Medal for the Defense of Leningrad. The medal itself is a mint error piece, where the word "Dvor"???? Condition is as seen in the images!

Enamel busted on the top ray. This is not a mint error but most likely wartime damage. The serial number of the award is authentic and matches the serial number shown in the archival documents.

If you require confirmation in advance, please send me a message, and I will gladly provide images. Reasonable, rational collectors who are genuinely interested in the history represented by an award will make the effort to reach out and will quickly find that everything is in order. Winner will be provided with archival research (23 pages) in electronic format, unredacted, in color. Professional English translation of the Temporary Certificate and Citation is available if requested before receipt of item. I will answer all coherent, respectful inquiries to the best of my ability.
