Soviet Russian USSR Order of the Red Star, "screwpost base" variation with serial number in the low 200000 range, awarded in July 1943 to motorcyclist and scout (" razvedchik ") Aleksei Aleksandrovich Boitsov, for. Combat actions from 1941 through the Battle of Kursk. All as part of the 150th Tank Brigade (Central Front).

From June 27, 1941 to January 1942, Boitsov served as an anti-aircraft machine gunner. In battle near the city of Yefremova (midway between Moscow and Voronezh) in November 1941, he used his anti-aircraft gun to repulse enemy infantry attacks.

Boitsov then served as a rifleman in the brigade's reconnaissance company from January to April 1942. In this capacity, he took part in 8 offensive actions and killed 9 "hitlerites". In addition, he took part "numerous times" in. Boitsov was serving as motorcyclist in the signals platoon of the tank brigade's headquarters company.

He kept his motorcycle in good repair, restored two other bikes during offensive actions, never once had an accident, and displaying courage, fulfilled all assigned missions precisely, notwithstanding the danger. As seen in the images! There is the possibility that the enamel was professionally restored using hot enamel (same technique as the Soviet state mint).

If indeed the case, it is done so well that it is difficult to distinguish from the native enamel. The serial number of the award matches the serial number shown in the archival documents.

If you require confirmation in advance, please send me a message, and I will gladly provide images. Reasonable, rational collectors who are genuinely interested in the history represented by an award will make the effort to reach out and will quickly find that everything is in order. Winner will be provided with full archival research (12 pages including an awarding protocol, the citation, and the awarding decree) in electronic format, unredacted, in color. For 100% clarity, on the awarding protocol, the serial number of Boitsov's Red Star will be visible, but the serial numbers of awards issued to other soldiers will remain redacted.

Professional English translation of the Citation is available if requested before receipt of item. I will answer all coherent, respectful inquiries to the best of my ability.
