Soviet Russian USSR Order of the Red Star with serial number in the 3.5 million range awarded in 1967 to Lieutenant Aleksandr Stepankov, a rifle platoon commander, for heroism in WWII. Stepankov earned two Red Stars in WWII. The first was for a battle in February 1945 in which his skillful command of his platoon inflicted 50 dead upon the enemy, took out 5 machine guns positions, and captured 5 Germans.
The second was for fighting on the Narew bridgehead, and for suffering 4 wounds during the war. Stepankov did not physically receive his awards until 1967, most likely due to recuperating at a hospital when awards were presented in his unit. When he finally received his Red Stars, he was given sequentially numbered pieces! At the time, he was working on the assembly line at Yuzhmash, the famous rocket and missile factory. As seen in the images!
The serial number of the award is authentic and matches the serial number shown in the archival documents. If you require confirmation in advance, please send me a message, and I will gladly provide images.
